On february 22, 2000 Neil Armstrong, as part of National Academy of Engineering, addressed the National Press Club. He confessed to be 'a nerdy engineer' and spoke about how engineering achievements changed the quality of life in the 20th century. See the video of the whole event on C-SPAN website. NAE published Armstrong's remarks with the title of The Engineered Century, in volume 30, number 1 (Spring 2000) of The Bridge that you can download from the Association's website. NAE also created a website about the greatest engineering achievements of the the 20th century. |
